When DE held their past RRP class they sent the students out for lunch. They have zero budget it sounds like. Jimmy will be there to handle things if we still want to bring in lunch. We charge whatever, he just hosts and markets.

I like the Reference Library set up. I can get in early, they are very accommodating, good parking, have tables and chairs, video screen w/cabling, they will set up (need count couple days before). We are confirmed. Robin Asher of Frazee is who they know and referred to Rob. Rob will help with the class somewhat.

No luck with any Associates yet. I have not talked to Tim. I have an email out to Warren my EPA contact for the Cleaning Verification Cards and the mailing status, and where to get the books.

Hi Melissa, Here’s a start:
1. Student $ - $150 non-member, $125 member
2. Facility rent if at my building $100/day
3. $400 teacher stipend. If over 10 students, $50 teacher aide stipend. Or teacher aide can be from class if competent or competent sales rep if at paint store
4. 25 students max per class
I still need to research: (I hope to figure this out on Monday)
1. EPA lead time to schedule classes
2. how to get the class books and how long to get
I am also trying to give the Associates a shot at the schedule, because a couple have inquired over the last few months. But that’s not a good income maker for the PDCAZ right? Or could it still be somehow? Should there be a charge for processing each student for their Certificate ? Or is that part of my teacher fee? What should we charge if we handle the webpage sign ups? Associates may subsidize the classes they advertise.
I also learned from a GC at BJ that many training centers set up a lot of classes but they often cancel due to lack of participation. He had 4 cancel on him. Should we try to avoid this – will students get frustrated and thus not recommend us or trust us? Or should we play the many scheduled class game to find out what days and times are best?
1. there is a 7 day pre-notification requirement and a 10 day post-notification (submit student info & pic) for any class. I’m trying to get set up on the EPA CDX (Central Data eXchange) system to do the notifications digitally but a webpage was messing up and I left a message. I’ll try tomorrow again.
2. “EPA will mail a box of cleaning verification cards to trainers upon their initial EPA accreditation to provide renovator training.”
3. I’m still working on where to get the required books. So far $6 each online.
Let’s get ’er in place prior to the newsletter &next Chapter mtg. Hopefully the EPA will do their part in time. I’m looking for ways not to depend on them!
